19 July 23.00 hours
A ball of pure white light about size of a 10p with a comet-like tail moving east to west, transformed into a formation of over 20 fluorescent orange lights, which moved from south to north. The central formation was escorted at the front and to each side by 2 or 3 others. All lights were identical. The formation flew swiftly and silently. Strange flying orange lightshave been reported in Australia.
Flying bright orange lights 'freak' witnesses
UFOS - bright orange lights flying in formation - have been spotted by several Darwin people in the past few days.
Peta Wilson was among those who saw up to six lights flying in triangular formation over the Nightcliff area on Sunday night.
But neither the Darwin Weather Bureau nor the RAAF had an explanation yesterday.
And neither was aware -of the phenomenon. And neither was aware of the phenomenon. Ms Wllson said yesterday, "I'm an avid skywatcher, I have a telescope and I've seen comets and planets.
"But I've never seen anything to match this - it really scared me.
"Suddenly I saw this orange light in the sky and I thought it was a plane at first.
"Then I saw another light and rolled my window down, but there was no jet noise.
"The lights were over the sea - and then four more joined them
"There were six in all, in a line, moving in and out of formation.
"They were there for about five minutes with no smoke or tails of any kind.
"I stopped next to a group who were watching and It was incredible - they were freaking out.
"The lights then moved into a triangular shape.
"They looked somehow as if they were just floating there."
Ms Wilson said she did not know a lot about extraterrestrials.
"I know people have seen some strange things, but I have never seen anything like this," she said.
"I have no answer for it."
Several other callers to the Northern Territory News confirmed her sighting yesterday.
But neither the Darwin Weather Bureau nor the RAAF said they knew of the incident, or were able to explain it.
Two Nightcliff residents reported seeing orange lights in the sky on separate days in May.
Four American UFO researchers arrived in the NT last month to Investigate the sightings, which they said, were similar to reports from around the world.

A large ball of orange light, moving extremely fast. Seen through the windscreen of a car, it had transversed the horizontal field of view in under a second. The object flashed 5 times for a fraction of a second.

25 December 23.59 hours
Silent, speedy, white triangle about 14 feet (4 metres) across, overtook a car and it two occupants, around midnight Christmas day. It moved erratically in front of them, towards their home village in Coggleshall. On reaching their destination, they watched it for several minutes whilst the object hovered and swayed from side to side. Underneath were 5 beams of white light "searching" the ground beneath it. It seemed to change its shape, and eventually disappeared rapidly (faded out?) northwards. Was its erratic motion an indication of malfunction? Did it land (to perform repairs)?
